Free Activity Books for Kids Available

Free booklets are available to teach kids about Michigan.

Free booklets are available to teach kids about Michigan, safety and recycling. The books have various kinds of activities to help children learn in a fun way.

If you are interested in any of these free books for one of those hot or rainy days that everyone is stuck inside, contact Rep. Jim Townsend's office at 517-373-3818 and the books will be sent to you.

  • Getting To Know Michigan: A Coloring Book - information on Michigan’s history
  • Michigan Recycles! Coloring and Activity Book - learn how to keep Michigan beautiful with the 3 Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle
  • Portraits of Michigan - contains maps, pictures, puzzles, quizzes and multiple-choice questions regarding all things Michigan, suitable for older students.
  • Safety Coloring Book - teaches children safety measures in a fun interactive way. This booklet addresses bullying, cyberbullying, how to use the internet safely, how to prepare a Family Emergency Plan and Kit, safety tips for dealing with drugs and violence, staying home alone safely, dialing 911, fire safety and gun safety. Parents are encouraged to participate in the activities within the booklet with their child.
