Gov. Tim Pawlenty Makes a Stop in Royal Oak

The one-time presidential contender from Minnesota is once again making waves on the GOP scene.

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty makes a stop in Royal Oak today at 2:30 p.m. at Mitt Romney’s Victory Center at 30701 Woodward Ave.

While Pawlenty's own campaign for the nation's top political position foundered after a third-place finish in the straw poll in Iowa last summer, he is now speculated to be on Romney's short list for a vice presidential running mate.

Pawlenty, 51, has rebounded and is now seen as a "battle-tested" candidate for the GOP campaign against President Barack Obama, according to the Star Tribune. A month after the Iowa poll, Pawlenty backed Romney as a presidential candidate.
