In Brief: City OKs Firefighters, Approves CDBG Action Plan

Commission handles short agenda in Monday night meeting.

The Royal Oak City Commission approved a list of items on its agenda at Monday night’s regular meeting.

2011-2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding amended

The city’s 2011-2012 Annual Action Plan budget was amended to fund improvements for the East Eleven Mile Road Improvement District. The proposed reallocation of funds totaling $430,000 would come from the underused Housing Rehabilitation Program, leftover funds from road improvements that came in under budget and reallocating $130,000 of the existing contingency fund.

2012-2013 CDBG annual action plan approved

Commissioners approved the Community Development Block Grant action plan for program year 2012-2013 as submitted by staff. Commission OK's six firefighters

The City Commission unanimously approved a request to fill six firefighter vacancies due to the retirements of Acting Assistant Chief Rick Wiegand, Captain Don Stehlin, Captain Gil Tufts, Captain Mike Schunck, Lieutenant Steve Villerot and Sergeant Tom Rosenthal.
