Man Pulls Knife During Armed Robbery Attempt in Royal Oak

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Man arrested in armed robbery incident 

200 S. Center (Parking Structure), Sept. 29: Royal Oak Police officers responded to the report of an armed robbery with a knife at the Center Street Parking Structure.

A woman reported she was walking to her vehicle when a man approached her brandishing a butcher knife. The man demanded her cell phone and money. When she went to hand the man her property he turned and fled the area on foot without the property.

Royal Oak officers arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter. An individual matching the suspect’s description was stopped exiting the parking structure in a vehicle. A 23-year-old Warren resident was arrested for attempted armed robbery.

The Royal Oak Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.

TV stolen from unlocked breezeway 

1600 block of E. 14 Mile, Oct. 1: A man reported someone stole a 32-inch Panasonic LCD television from his unlocked breezeway.

 

Bikes stolen

1016 W. 11 Mile (Y.M.C.A.), Sept. 29: A man reported someone stole his unsecured bicycle from the eastside of the business.

4500 block of Rochester, Oct. 01: A man reported someone stole a silver Ryno 21 speed mountain bike from his front porch.

    

Landscaping tools, briefcase and more taken from vehicles

2800 W. 14 Mile, Sept. 30: A man reported someone broke into a landscaping truck and stole three Redmax backpack blowers, two Shindaiwa weed trimmers and one Echo weed trimmer.

1800 block of Chester, Sept. 27: A man reported someone stole his briefcase from his unlocked vehicle.

300 block of W. 12 Mile, Sept. 26: A man reported someone broke into his vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of currency, bank checks, sunglasses, miscellaneous clothing and paperwork.

200 block of W. 12 Mile, Sept. 26: A woman reported someone stole miscellaneous paperwork from her unlocked vehicle.

Windows broken

738 S. Washington (That Girl Clothing Resale), Sept. 29: The resale shop reported someone broke the front window of the business.

1200 block of W. Farnum, Sept. 28: A woman reported someone threw a rock at the front window of her residence cracking it.
