Royal Oak Chamber Awards 6 Scholarships
Outstanding high school students, with a flair for business and marketing, each received a $500 scholarship on Tuesday.
The awarded six Royal Oak seniors with a $500 dollar scholarship on Tuesday.
A total of 18 candidates filled out an applications for this year's awards. Each candidate was interviewed by a committee that looked at a student's community service and interest in business and marketing.
Throughout the year the Chamber raises funds through its events to award as many scholarships as possible. For example, at on Sunday, $490 was raised in tips, which will go to fund scholarships in 2013.

"Our goal for 2013 is to award ten scholarships," said Mike Gairaud, membership assistant.
