Royal Oak Declares Snow Emergency

The following is from the City of Royal Oak:

A snow emergency has been declared on March 2, 2014 at 3:00 a.m.

Snow Emergency conditions are generally defined as a snowfall of four inches or more and will remain in effect until your street has been plowed.  All vehicles on residential streets are to be removed or will be towed and/or ticketed. Vehicles are to remain off the streets until plow trucks have gone through the area. Once a snow emergency is called and plowing begins, it takes approximately 24-36 hours to plow all city streets, depending on how much snow has fallen. Check here for additional snow emergency information.

    Snow Emergency Hotline: 248-246-3442

Editor's note: The Royal Oak Police advise they will begin issuing tickets to cars parked on roads at noon.

Does anyone know if it's common practice for RO to plow only one side of your street? Plow came through about 30 minutes ago but only plowed one side of the street. This happened one other time and I'm not sure if they just "forgot" to come back for the other side or if this is some sort of cost savings.

The plowed one side of my street before but finished an hour later. Guessing its one truck doing a route, I'm sure they'll finish the rest soon.
