Royal Oak's New Tagline: Life Now Playing

City commissioners will review options for letterhead and business cards with Royal Oak's new logo and tagline.

Royal Oak is ready to reveal the city's splashy new branding logo and slogan – "Life Now Playing" – on letterhead and business cards.

City commissioners voted 6-1 at a special meeting in June to move forward with new branding for the city. As part of its 2012-2013 goals and objectives, the Royal Oak City Commission hired Ideation Signs and Communications, to help roll-out a unified city marketing identity and strategy. This year’s budget included an allocation of $20,000 to complete the design task.


Since the June approval of the new Royal Oak logo and tagline, derivative logos were developed for police, fire, public services, recreation, farmers market, community development, library, WROK and the Commission for the Arts. (See PDF above.)

Tonight, commissioners will consider letterhead and business card designs to be used for city staff.

Ultimately, the new logo and tagline will appear on banners, city vehicles, gateway signs and other city materials.
