Seniors attending the fifth annual “Southeast Oakland County Senior Salute” on Monday, Oct. 7 will have the chance to win gift cards and other prizes, said host Sen. John Pappageorge.
“The Southeast Oakland County Senior Salute continues to grow every year because it’s a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends,” said Pappageorge, R-Troy. “The best part of the salute is that the entire event, including lunch, is free of charge.”
The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market, located at 316 E. Eleven Mile Road, two blocks east of Main Street in Royal Oak.
The salute will feature local vendors, door prizes, games, health screenings, a tote bag to store all of the vendor giveaways and much more. Those interested in flu shots are asked to bring their insurance card.
The event is organized by Pappageorge and the Southeast Oakland Community Fund, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. American HouseSenior Living Communities serves as the platinum sponsor again this year.
Seniors can obtain additional information about the event by calling248-463-0853.
