Survey Says: New Playground Equipment, Pool and Splash Pad Top Readers' Wish List

Royal Oak Patch launched a survey last week asking readers "What's On Your Wish List for Royal Oak Parks?" Of the 284 people that took the survey and more than 100 left comments.

And the survey says...

• New or upgraded playground equipment for various parks ($325,000)
• A swimming pool ($4 million)
• A splash pad ($484,000)
• Repair or resurface tennis courts ($60,000)
• A plan for bike lanes ($9,000)

The estimated cost for the top five items on the readers' wish list is nearly $4.9 million. The big ticket item on the list is the swimming pool at $4 million. 

Of those taking the survey, more than half said they have children who are under 18 years of age. Nearly 94 percent said they were registered voters in Royal Oak and approximately 40 percent said they have lived in Royal Oak for more than 20 years. See who took the survey here.

Note: No one that took the survey identified himself or herself as being under 19 years of age and only one person checked the 75 and over category.
