Although I have mixed feelings about the number of times I've been told "don't blink -- it will all go so fast!" since I had my son 17 months ago, one thing is for sure -- he seems to be growing pretty fast! Between growth spurts and the greater amount of wear-and-tear his clothes are taking from his self-feeding and sandbox adventures, I feel like I am pretty regularly on the lookout for new clothes. Kids Planet
A great find right in our beautiful downtown! Kids Planet is a consignment resale shop (and also has a few brand-new items for sale) featuring kids clothing sizes 0 (newborn) - 10. The prices are reasonable, and I have found the quality of clothing to be very good at each of my visits. Kids Planet also carries shoes, and new toys (including Melissa & Doug) and accessories. When you visit, you may be greeted by the owners' daughter, who is extremely helpful in her knowledge of the store's layout.

Located a little off the beaten path in Birmingham, Restyle Child offers gently used name-brand children's clothing at excellent prices. All previously worn clothing is in fantastic condition and includes brands like Janie & Jack, Gymboree, Baby Gap, Ralph Lauren, and more. The store refreshes the inventory regularly, so you will always find something new. They are great about keeping up with the seasons, too. Restyle Child offers a large selection of shoes and clothing starting at newborn sizes, along with new accessories, gifts and more. Mom-to-Mom Sales
Although the mom-to-mom sale scene is a little quiet during the summer, you can't beat a "M2M sale" for fabulous bargains. At a mom-to-mom sale, parents sell the clothes and toys that their children have outgrown, usually at yard sale prices. You might have to pay a few dollars for admission (mom-to-mom sales are usually held as fundraisers for religious organizations, nonprofits and schools), but walking out the door with ten outfits for $5.00 is worth it!
