New Royal Oak Schools Attendance Boundaries Take Effect in 2014

Check out the revised map and find out if you're affected by the changes.

The revised elementary school attendance boundary map above was approved by the Royal Oak Schools Board of Eduction on Dec. 1.

The changes will go into effect for the 2014-15 school year. The following adjustments were made, according to an announcement on the school district's web site:

  • Those parts of the current Oak Ridge attendance area that are west of Main Street are shifted to the Addams attendance area.
  • Those parts of the current Upton attendance area that are east of Crooks are shifted to the Addams attendance area.
  • Any families who live in the area impacted by this shift who have children attending Oak Ridge as of December 1, 2013, will be allowed to continue in Oak Ridge as their attendance area elementary school.

Families enrolling their first child for the 2013-14 school year who live in the area that will be shifting from Oak Ridge or Upton to Addams will be given priority through the Elementary Transfer process if they want to start their child at Addams.
