ROHS' Drive One 4 UR School Fundraiser a Success

Organizers estimate that Saturday's event raised close to the $8,000 goal for student activities.

The weather was perfect Saturday as an estimated 300 drivers checked out Ford cars and trucks at to raise much-needed funds for the school's cocurricular activities.

Ford Hall,  commercial truck manager and event organizer, said late Saturday afternoon that he expects Ford Motor Co. to write a check for $8,000 to the high school. "We believe we got over 300 drivers, plus an extra 200 Focus drivers," he said.

The school gets $20 for every test driver, plus an additional $10 for those who also took a Focus for a spin.

ROHS Band and Orchestra Boosters President Karen Kline called the event "the most exciting day ever" as the fundraiser brought out students, parents, faculty and members of the community for a the cause.
