ROHS Drama Club 'Guys and Dolls' Opens Nov. 15

The cast features over 40 Royal Oak High School students.

The critically acclaimed Royal Oak Drama Club will perform Guys and Dolls, the beloved A Musical Fable of Broadway, based on a story and characters by
Damon Runyon.  The production is directed by Ed Nahhat (Water Works Theater) and Brittany Ward (Magenta Giraffe Theater). Both graduates of Royal Oak High Schools.  Guys and Dolls is known as a challenging score, but with the help of Vocal Director Deborah Buffa (ROHS) and Musical Direction from David Jensen (ROHS), the song and dance is sure to be strong in this production of Guys and Dolls.

The cast features over 40 Royal Oak High School students, with as many as 50 more working back stage in set construction, lights, sound and props. Onstage, Guys and Dolls stars student actors Max Sanders as Sky Masterson, Meaghan Lynch as Sarah, Calvin Brown as Nathan Detroit and Hannah Wielgat as Adelaide

Guys and Dolls is the story of Nathan Detroit, who needs to set up this week's incarnation of "The Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York"; the only problem is, he needs $1000 to get the place. Throw in Sarah Brown, who's short on sinners at the mission she runs; Sky Masterson, who accepts Nathan's $1000 bet that he can't get Sarah Brown to go with him to Havana; Miss Adelaide, who wants Nathan to marry her; Police Lieutenant Brannigan, who always seems to appear at the wrong time; and the music/lyrics of Frank Loesser, and you've got quite a musical including the songs "Sue Me", "Luck Be a Lady" and "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat"
