Interact of Royal Oak, Royal Oak High School service club, is hosting a day for Interact Clubs around Michigan and Canada to learn leadership skills, meet new people, to organize projects and make a change in the world. Students will gather at Royal Oak High School on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The group hopes to gain new perspectives, team with other Interact groups to work on projects together and build a social network to communicate with each other. The entire conference is run by students.
“The conference sounds really interesting.” says Niki Musick, new member of Interact Club. “I’d like to hear other people’s ideas because I like helping people.”
Interact is a youth Rotary organization and has been at Royal Oak High School for seven years. Its recent projects include Box City for the homeless, an annual disaster relief trip to help rebuild homes and a service trip to Guatemala this past summer. This will be the second Interact Day Royal Oak High School has hosted.
