Sam Lynch Appointed Oakland Elementary School Principal

Sam Lynch came to the Royal Oak School District in 1991.

Sam Lynch has been named the Principal of Oakland Elementary School. 

Lynch, a life-long resident of Royal Oak, has over 20 years experience in the Royal Oak School District. He has served over eight years in school leadership roles including Assistant Principal at Royal Oak High School and Interim Assistant Principal at Dondero High School.  He came to the Royal Oak School District in 1991, first as a coach and then as a teacher in 1994.

Lynch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from Albion College, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Secondary Mathematics from Wayne State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Michigan State University. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.

In making the announcement, Superintendent Shawn Lewis-Lakin said, “Mr. Lynch will provide strong stable instructional leadership for Oakland Elementary School.  I am impressed with Mr. Lynch’s passion for learning, his commitment to our community, and his ability to establish strong supportive relationships with students, families, and staff members.”
