School Board to Discuss Superintendent Search Tonight

District continues process to replace retiring Thomas Moline and the public is invited to provide input.

The Royal Oak Board of Education meets tonight to discuss issues including an update on the district’s search to replace retiring Superintendent Thomas Moline.

A Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) representative will present the board with an update on the search process when the board meets at 7 p.m. at. The school board is in charge of hiring the district's next superintendent and MASB is assisting with the search process.

The tentative deadline date set to apply for the position is March 25. The average number of applications for a superintendent positions normally seen for a district of this size is between 25-30, MASB adjunct consultant Marie Miller said. The names of the candidates chosen to take place in the public interview process will we made public, but other applicants' names will be kept confidential.
