More New Businesses on the Horizon in Downtown Royal Oak

Main Street shoppers will soon find some new options for things to wear, eat and drink.

Jay Dunstan, chairperson of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), announced Wednesday a new apparel store, coffee shop, pastry store and running store will soon be a part of the downtown mix.

Dustan shared the following details of projects set to offer Main Street shoppers new options:

  • 405 S. Main (the former Elie Wine Shop) will be Meghan Marion, a women’s clothing and accessories store. A lease has been signed.

  • 401 S. Main (the former Caribou Coffee) will be a coffee shop with a light menu owned by John Hanna, A lease was signed today.

  • 115 S. Main (the former Footprints) will be a Spanish coffee/chocolate/pastry shop based upon a successful European concept called La Dulce. A lease has been signed and a build out is underway.

  • 119 S. Main (the former Ariana Gallery) will be a running store that sponsors marathons. Terms have been agreed to and a document is being prepared.

  • In addition, 117 W. Fourth Street, the former Chrome space, has four proposals under consideration, including two retailers, a yoga center and a dessert shop, said Dunstan.
