Shrine Knight Reunion Weekend 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk Open to the Community

Governor’s Council Encourages Community Participation at Local Event

  (ROYAL OAK) –This year’s Shrine Alumni Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 23rd, 2012, at 10 a.m., at Shrine Catholic High School.  The races are open to Shrine Schools alumni, family, friends, and all community members. 

 The SHRINE ALUMNI FUN RUN (5K Run & 1 Mile Run/Walk) has been recognized as a quality physical activity event by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness.  The Governor’s Council endorses local, regional and state events to acknowledge an organization’s ability to plan and carry out a quality event that significantly contributes to the health and well-being of Michigan residents. The Shrine Alumni Fun Run exemplifies this core value and is endorsed by the Governor’s Council.

Early registration fees for the Shrine Alumni Run Run are $15 for the 5K and $10 for the 1 Mile Run/Walk (deadline June 15). All participants can register at www.shrineknightalumni.com.  Race day registration is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Shrine Field House ($20 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile Run/Walk).  All participants receive a T-shirt and participation ribbon.  Awards will be presented for all age groups, men and women overall, and lumni by decades.
