MSU Bowl Victory: Did You Watch?

From BlackFinn in Royal Oak to the MSU lockerroom where the Tom Izzo & Team cheered on their Spartan football counterparts, there was celebrating after the Spartans' triple-overtime 33-30 victory in the Outback Bowl. What about you?

The blocked punt brought MSU's basketball team out of its seats to high five, as coach Tom Izzo pounded the table in front of him. It was hard not to get excited as the Spartans watched their football counterparts defeat Georgia 33-30 in the Outback Bowl on Monday.

In Royal Oak, fans at errupted in cheers, and one fan said even when the Spartans were down by 16 there was "100 percent faith."

Detroit News sportswriter Lynn Henning contended the Outback Bowl victory over Georgia took the MSU Spartans to the next level and Detroit News photographer Dale Young capped his photo gallery of great game moments with a shot of an ecstatic and emotional MSU quarterback Kirk Cousins chucking his helmet and celebrating in the end zone.

"Huge gutty win by the Spartans. Dantonio coached rings around Richt at the end," tweeted Detroit News columnist Bob Wojnowski.

Detroit Free Press sportswriter Drew Sharp captured the Spartans' postgame emotions with his description of 6-foot-7 William Gholston, who was practically speechless: "I just love being a Spartan. I just ... I can't talk right now. I've got to hug this guy," Sharp recounted Gholston saying, before capturing a Gatorade-drenched Spartans coach Mark Dantonio in a huge bear hug.
