Royal Oak Offers Little Hoop Stars Basketball Program
Sessions for boys and girls in preschool and kindergarten begin in January.
Jump Start Sports and the Royal Oak Parks and Recreation Department are offering introductory basketball for boys and girls in preschool and kindergarten on Saturday mornings at the Jack & Patti Salter Community Center, 1545 E Lincoln Ave., with the first session beginning Jan. 11 and ending Feb. 15.
Children will learn the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense, utilizing fun drills designed to teach good fundamentals to such young children. Teams also play a short scrimmage game at the end of each session. The sessions are held from 2-3 p.m.
Jump Start Sports staff coaches will also supervise a short scrimmage game at the end of each session.

The cost is $65 for the six-week session (includes team shirt and trophy).
