Royal Oak Tops Port Huron in Hockey Showcase

Despite 23 minutes in penalties, the Ravens dominate in 4-1 victory.

CHELSEA — senior forward Tim Cowan scored two goals for the Ravens as they defeated Port Huron, 4-1, at the Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase on Friday afternoon.

Royal Oak sophomore goalie Max Benoit made 27 saves for the Ravens.

Cam Russell put Royal Oak on the board in the first period and Zach Mickus added an empty-net goal late in regulation.

Royal Oak showed just one glaring weakness: penalties. The Ravens were penalized a whopping 10 times for 23 minutes. All of their penalties were assessed in the second or third periods.

Dillon Balnius assisted on two Royal Oak goals.
