Dogs Invited to Make a Splash at Oakland County Pools

Dogs will have the pool to themselves Sept. 7 and Sept. 8 at two events offered by Oakland County Parks and Recreation.

Oakland County Parks and Recreation will once again invite area dogs to help close out the season with two upcoming Dog Swim events at county water parks.

The 9th annual Dog Swims will be held on Sept. 7 at Waterford Oaks Waterpark in Waterford and Sept. 8 at Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights.

Five separate 55-minute, dog-only swim times will be offered based on weight and a variety of contests will be held, including "Best Wet Look" and "Best Swimsuit," according to the county's web site.

Each session is limited to 75 dogs.

All dog owners must show valid Michigan Dog License and proof of vaccinations at the time of the event. Admission is $10 before Aug. 30 or $15 at the gate.
