Tis NOT the Season...YET!!

I remember when I was a little girl in the mid to late 70's...I could hardly wait til the day after Thanksgiving... for the Christmas decorations to be up. 
     THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING!!!!!!

What has happened since then or better yet over the past 10-15 years??  When did it become socially acceptable for retailers to start putting out their Christmas Holiday items before Halloween?  Seriously, the goblins haven't even had their night of spookiness before they are moved to the end-caps of the isles to make room for Santa and pals.

Am I crazy???  Am I behind the times???

I am forced to look at the Christmas Trees everyday at work from the Gift Shop.  They line the front window with their sparkle and flair while the Halloween stuff is on the back shelves with "40% OFF " signs.  (It's sad as I love Halloween :) )    And I love autumn...the colorful trees, falling leaves and the wonderful crisp air that makes sleeping at night a dream.  What sucks is that I can't even fully engage in it because the Consumer Mafia and their peeps push the Christmas buying season on the public in October.

But the retailers aren't the only naughty children who deserve coal in their stockings.... The radio stations start playing their Jingle Bells and Frosty the Snowman auditory madness on November 1st.... again can't we please get past Thanksgiving??

I would like to be excited about Christmas instead of being numb because it has been thrown in my face for 85 days. 

I want to feel the child-like anticipation of Thanksgiving in knowing that Christmas is just around the corner.  If that makes me old fashioned or old school... I am ok with that because this Momma loves her some tradition!!
