Gentle Groomer definitely does not live up to their name. They are more like rude and unprofessional.

They advertised for free nail grinding so we decided to give them a try. When we walked up to the door, it was locked and the owner barely wanted to unlock it which is odd because there was a big sign for nail grinding and we clearly had a dog with us.

We have a larger dog and as soon as we walked in the employees started making rude remarks about how big he was, repeatedly yelling, “Hey horse!”, among other unnecessary things the entire time we were there. At first we didn’t think anything of it but it got really annoying after a while. Please note that our dog is really friendly and wouldn’t hurt a fly. They gave every dog that walked in a treat however they did not give one to our dog. Also, there were two smaller dogs leaving while we were waiting to be serviced and they suggested that the owner pick up her dogs because our dog “may eat them,” even though our dogs were already socializing.

We asked about their pricing with consideration of coming back for a full grooming, she hesitated for a while as if she didn’t know what they charge and finally said that it would be $60 if he was used to being groomed and $70 if he was not. Our dog does really well with grooming so we agreed on $60. However, after she got finished with grinding his nails, she tells us that it will be $70 because she can tell he isn’t groomed on a regular basis implying that we do not take care of our dog. The whole experience was insulting.

To sum it up, we will not being returning to Gentle Groomers. We would hate for someone else to experience the poor and unprofessional service that we did.
