"I have been absolutely blown away by Ferndale. The people here are amazing," said Bacigalupo, who is from Northern Michigan and only recently moved to Royal Oak.

Volunteers with "For the Love of Louie" - a Michigan lost pet-lookers organization - are also on the streets helping, and Bacigalupo's phone has been ringing often as people and rescue groups from all across the region have offered support.

Tyson was spotted near on Sunday morning and around 1:45 p.m. Sunday at 427 East Marshall.

Rescued from a puppy mill where he had been abused, Tyson is very timid and is afraid of people. If you see him, Bacigalupo says to use a very soft voice and offer your hand (palm up). If he runs, don't chase him - just call Bacigalupo at 989.225.4570.

How to get involved

Tyson's owners have distributed about 700 flyers in the area and a reward is being offered. For now, what they need the most are more people who want to help.
