Viewfinder: Zombie Walk For Gleaners

The fourth annual World Zombie Day took over the streets of downtown Royal Oak on Sunday afternoon.

was the meeting place Sunday for hundreds of zombies willing to roam the streets of downtown Royal Oak for a cause.

Gleaners Community Food Bank puts the Zombie Walk together every year to collect donations of funds and nonperishable foods. In 2010, zombies donated 2,155 pounds of food and more than $6,400, according to the Zombie Walk Detroit website.

The Walk Against Hunger is a part of World Zombie Day, which was officially Saturday, although events are scheduled all throughout the month of October. So if you see more zombies wandering the streets don't be alarmed – they have missing limbs and hanging eyeballs for a good cause.
