Snowstorm Taking Aim at Southeast Michigan Today and Tonight

First storm of 2014 expected to pack 2-4 inches of snow, arctic air blast to follow.

A snowstorm is forecast to bring 2-4 inches of snow today and tonight to kick off the new year.

A National Weather Service (NWS) hazardous weather outlook report also forecasts a blast of deep cold air moving in on Thursday, allowing wind chills to potentially fall to -15 degrees or lower. This could necessitate a wind chill advisory, reads the report.

Another surge of arctic air will occur next week, possibly bringing the coldest temperatures of the season by Monday and Tuesday, according to NWS.
