Week Ahead: Community Awards, Spooktacular and More

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week.

It's a busy week in Royal Oak, as usual. What do you have planned?

Here are five things you should know as you go about your week:

  1. City Commission meets Monday: The City Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  2. 66th Annual Royal Oak Community Awards on Tuesday: The Chamber of Commerce will be handing out awards for Citizen of the Year, Community Spirit, Business Beautification, Residential Beautification, and Residential Landscape Beautification at Emagine Theatre from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are required.   3. 'Fall into Healthy Habits' on Thursday: Beaumont occupational, physical and rehabilitation specialists will offer demonstrations and presentations to showcase the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Beaumont Health Center, 4949 Coolidge Highway, in Royal Oak.
  4. Spooktacular on Sunday: Downtown Royal Oak presents this Halloween event that is fun for the whole family. Parents are invited to bring their children in their costumes for trick-or-treating at downtown businesses from 2-4 p.m.
  5. Royal Oak Band Concert performs Sunday: The concert is entitled "A Musical Voyage Around the World" and will be held at 3 p.m. at Royal Oak High School ). Featured will be clarinet soloist George Stoffan, assistant professor of clarinet at Oakland University. Tickets are $10 for adults;  $8 for seniors/students; children 12 and under are free.
