Week Ahead: City Meetings, Beerfest and More

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week.

It's a busy week in Royal Oak, as usual. What do you have planned?

Here are five things you should know as you go about your week:

  1. City Commission meets Monday: The City Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  2. Planning Commission meets Tuesday: The Planning Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  3. The school board meets Thursday: Royal Oak Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. inside at 1123 Lexington Blvd. Click here for the agenda.
  4. Royal Oak Fire Department Open House on Saturday: The Royal Oak Fire Department will be hosting its annual open house from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the downtown fire station, 215 E. Sixth St. The annual event is an opportunity for families to have fun while learning about safety. Fire Department personnel will provide demonstrations, displays and hands-on activities. Beerfest on Saturday: The Royal Oak Farmer's Market and Real Detroit Weekly present Royal Oak Beer Fest 2013 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the market.  Attendees will have the opportunity to sample different beers from around the world, across the state, and down the street. Click here for more information.
