Week Ahead: Motown Macdown, Trolleys, Treasure & Tunes and More

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week.

There's always a lot going on in Royal Oak. Here are some highlights this week:

  1. Planning Commission meets Tuesday: The Planning Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  2. Trolleys, Treasure & Tunes on Wednesday: This event coincides with the wildly popular food truck rally in December. Downtown Retailers will sample their holiday wares for a one-night-only shopping extravaganza from 5-11 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. There will be music, Santa Claus, shopping, cash bar and of course dozens of food trucks. 93.9 the river will be there as well with Give-aways and on air promotions.   3. Bikeshare presentation on Wednesday: Join the Royal Oak Environmental Advisory Board at 7:30 p.m.  at the Royal Oak Public Library to hear a representative from A2B Bikeshare explain how Royal Oak could get bikeshare. This meeting is free and open to the public.   4. Motown Macdown on Thursday: Mac and Cheese; it’s a dinnertime staple and kid favorite! Now, this delicious dish will help benefit Justin’s Vision, a non-profit organization helping Michigan children with life-threatening illnesses enjoy a carefree vacation experience with their families, at the third annual Motown Macdown. Click here for more information.
  5. Kids eat free on Sunday: During the holidays on Sundays through Dec. 29, Kids 12 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult meal at  participating Royal Oak restaurants a. Visit the Royal Oak Restaurant Association for more information.
