Week Ahead: City Meetings, Family Magic Show, Nature Society Program and More

There's a lot going on in Royal Oak this week. Here are five things you should know as you go about your week.

There's always a lot going on in Royal Oak. Here are some highlights this week:

  1. Family Magic Show on Tuesday: Magician Dave Foydel will help us beat the winter blahs with the “ahhs” of magic at 7 p.m. Bring the whole family for this interactive magic show at the Royal Oak Public Library. Visit ropl.org or call the Youth Reference Desk at 248-246-3725 to sign up for this free program.
  2. Planning Commission meets Tuesday: The Planning Commission meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for the agenda.
  3. Nature Society program on Wednesday: “Using Fungi Guidebooks and Keys” will be held at the Royal Oak Senior Center, 3500 Marais, at 7 p.m.  This free program is being presented by Mary Fredricks, Royal Oak Nature Society mycologist.
  4. Mixed material mosaic classes begin Thursday: Learn to cut and break stained glass, glass tile, ceramic tile and ceramic or porcelain dishes while making a 12-inch by 14-inch mosaic panel during this four-week class at the Creative Arts Studio, 114 W.   5. Strategic Planning Meeting on Saturday: The Royal Oak City Commission meets from 9 a.m to noon in the Police Conference Room at 221 E. Third St to review city goals, objectives and financial policies.
