12 Freebies for Vets on Veterans Day

Vets can take advantage of special November deals.

Veterans and active duty military can take advantage of special deals and freebies this Veteran’s Day weekend.

  • BlackFinn, located at 530 S. Main Street in Royal Oak, will offer all veterans and active duty military a free entree. (Value up to $20.) No purchase required. Valid ID required or in uniform.
  • All Applebees will offer all veterans and active duty military a free signature entree on Veterans Day.
  • All Texas Roadhouse locations are offering veterans a free lunch (and beverage) from a special menu on Monday. Proof of military service required. Active, former and retired military welcome. Dine-in only.
  • All Starbucks will provide a free tall brewed coffee for veterans, active duty military and their spouses in participating U.S. company-owned stores on Veterans Day.
  • All Denny's will participate in a Denny’s Veterans Day Appreciation Event. Enjoy free all you can eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday for all active, retirees, and veterans with a valid military ID or proof of military service. Offer available in every Denny’s nationwide. 
  • Olive Garden offer offers 10 percent off to current service members and their families all November. On Monday, vets and current service members get a free meal from a special menu. Family members dining with them will also receive 10 percent off their meal. 
  • TGIFriday's offers vets free lunch on Veterans Day at participating locations.
  • Tubby’s Sub Shops is offering all veterans and active duty military the choice of free carryout of its popular 6” Grilled Steak N’ Cheese or Tubby’s Famous Sub during normal store hours on Monday.
  • The Detroit Zoo is offering free admission to all active and retired military with ID on Monday in observance of Veterans Day. 
  • On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is offering its “Create Your Own Combo menu,” the restaurant’s best-seller featuring more than 150 possible dinner combinations, for free to veterans and active duty military on Monday.
  • Champps Americana is offering a choice of seven handcrafted burgers served with waffle fries, for free to veterans and active duty military on Monday.
  • Bar Louie – On Sunday and Monday, all Bar Louie locations are offering veterans and military personnel a free meal up to a $12 value. 
Note: These listed businesses accept various forms of identification including military ID cards, DD214 papers and, for some, even pictures of you in uniform. Save yourself some trouble and call ahead to ensure you have everything you need, the location is participating in the deal and to make reservations if possible.
