Processed foods have been stripped of their natural enzymes, fiber, vitamins and other nutrients and because of that they can cause problems with the digestive tract. 
Consuming processed foods can throw off your internal ecosystem by harming beneficial bacteria and exposing you to infection.
Foods in their natural, whole state are best for fueling your body and providing optimal functioning.
