The Mind-Body Connection - Part 2

There are very clear differences in emotional and physical hunger. Emotional hunger comes on suddenly and is only satisfied by a specific food, while physical hunger occurs gradually and can wait to be satisfied. Emotional hunger also feels urgent with a need to be satisfied immediately.

With emotional hunger, you are more likely to continue eating even though you feel full. Think of the broken-hearted woman eating an entire gallon of ice cream!

Emotional eating can leave you with feelings of guilt; physical hunger does not. Examine your emotional needs and address them. This will make the different types of hunger more distinct and easier to manage.
