Letter to Editor: Jeremy Mahrle for Royal Oak City Commissioner

I am voting for Jeremy Mahrle for Royal Oak City Commissioner. I will be proud to have him represent me and my fellow citizens of Royal Oak. Further I am confident that he will be a Commissioner for all of us - from seniors like me to children and everyone in between.

Jeremy is very dedicated to the future of Royal Oak. He was born and raised here and attended Royal Oak Schools. Over the years he has been an active member of our community, serving as a Planning Commissioner and through his involvement with Community Anti-Drug Coalitions and Youth Assistance groups. In his day job with Congressman Sandy Levin, he helps veterans and members of the military get the benefits that they earned for their service.

I like Jeremy's ideas and his vision for Royal Oak. He is committed keeping our neighborhoods safe and he wants to grow our downtown responsibly, with an emphasis on more retail, office and living space. Having grown up here, he knows what makes Royal Oak unique and will protect things like the Farmers Market and the Senior Center.

The attribute that I admire most is Jeremy's people skills.  He sees the positive in people and in their ideas even if he doesn't always agree. He listens and thinks before acting. He is a team player and a consensus builder. He smiles easily and often and he cares about people.

I recently read that Mayor Jim Ellison and City Commissioners like Carlo Ginotti, Kyle DuBuc and Mike Fournier are supporting him. I will be proud to join them in casting my vote for Jeremy Mahrle for City Commissioner.
