The Salvation Army is one of the largest fund-raising forces in southeast Michigan. Its goals are to feed the hungry, house the homeless and help the sick, elderly and disabled. The Salvation Army is best known for putting red kettles throughout the region every holiday season to gather change to use for its numerous charitable efforts. The Salvation Army also gives out holiday meal baskets, provides needy children with school supplies and gives holiday presents to children who otherwise would have none.
