Nearly one year ago we introduced readers to Kelly Dickie, who married her longtime boyfriend Nathan Hayward in Royal Oak on Veteran's Day. With the couple's first anniversary just one month away, we caught up with the 11-11-11 bride.
Kelly (Dickie) Hayward was excited and nervous last November when she learned she would marry her longtime boyfriend Nathan Hayward at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in a “Call to Wed” event. The Haywards were one of eight military couples chosen to exchange vows on Veteran's Day in an all expense paid ceremony that included everything from wedding gowns to wedding cake. Almost one year later, we caught up with Kelly to find out how things are going. Patch: So, first of all, how was the wedding? Was it all that you hoped it would be? Nearly one year ago we introduced readers to Syvanuah Marie, who was born in Royal Oak on 11-11-11. With her first birthday just one month away, her parents are struggling to find a new place to live.
Delana Conley said she felt lucky last November when she got up at 1:30 a.m. and told boyfriend Brandon White her water broke. The couple, living in Clinton Township at the time, had little time to look at a calendar and notice the date. Syvanuah Marie was born at Beaumont Hospital at 5:43 a.m. on 11-11-11, surprising her parents by arriving 24 days before her Dec. 5 due date. Almost one year later, we caught up with Conley to find out how things are going. Patch: How is Syvanuah Marie doing? Is she walking? We want to know all the details! Syvanauh Marie surprised her parents by arriving 24 days early.
"You know how when you look at a clock and it says 11:11 you get to make a wish?" said Angela Blazevski, a communications specialist for Beaumont Health System. "Well how lucky do you think it is to be born on 11-11-11?" Delana Conley feels lucky indeed.
