Food & Wine Names Buddy's Pizza Among Nation's Best
Local Pizzeria held in high regard amongst legendary eateries around the country, according to the magazine.
Buddy's, a Detroit-area institution for more than five decades, was named among the best pizza places in the entire United States by Food & Wine Magazine this week, according to the publication's website. "This fabled pizzeria specializes in Detroit-style square pies like The Super (with pepperoni, mushrooms, onion, green peppers and ham)," the magazine noted. It also mentioned the chain, which has locations in Royal Oak, Auburn Hills, Dearborn. Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Livonia, and Warren, still uses some seasoned pans from 50 years ago. Buddy's appears to be in good company on the list, which included pizzerias from New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, among others.
