Royal Oak Activist Group Announces Public Forum

Residents will discuss pressing city and school financial concerns at Sept. 24 forum.

Royal Oak Citizens for Accountability, Sustainability, and Transparency (CAST) will hold a public forum to share information on pressing city and school financial concerns from 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Jane Addams Elementary School. Discussion will be based on "fact and not emotions that have clouded these issues in the past," said organizer Bill Shaw in a press realease. Shaw, who will facilitate the discussion, will provide material in a basic and understandable manner, he said. The following topics will be discussed: Students are welcome to attend the forum. "Students will be responsible for much of the debt generated," said Shaw in a press release. “They may as well learn early how this process works.”

Now this is constructive. I also have mentioned to Bill that he needs to "stump" more effectively and reach out for help. Bill's forte is running a meeting efficiently. Something you can only learn in the private sector. Unlike some of his critics he is not a self promoting show boater of the kind who dominate our commission.
