Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week: CVS Drugstore, 30900 Woodward, Jan.  4:  A man reported she pulled into a handicap parking spot at the CVS.  She observed a white Honda Civic backing into the parking spot to her left.  While exiting her vehicle she observed a 25-year-old man in the car exposing his genitalia.   700 block of S. Wilson, Jan.  4:  A person reported someone entered the unlocked home and stole three laptop computers an undisclosed amount of coins.  1900 block of Parmenter, Jan. 3:  A person reported someone stole a UPS package, which had been delivered on Dec. 11.  2800 block of W. 14 Mile, Jan. 7:  A person reported someone stole a license plate from a company owned vehicle.  Walgreens, …

Known Sex Offender Arrested in Downtown Royal Oak

Donovan Joseph Butkovich, 19, faces indecent exposure charges.

A 19-year-old Warren man with a history of indecent exposure convictions was arraigned before Judge Terrence Brennan in 44th District Court in Royal Oak on Wednesday. Police say Donovan Joseph Butkovich was arrested for exposing himself near Sixth and Lafayette at approximately 7:50 a.m. Sunday. He faces a charge of indecent exposure by a sexual delinquent person, which is a felony carrying a possible sentence ranging from one day to life in prison.  Butkovich was running to a black Cadillac CTS when he was stopped by a Royal Oak police officer. “One of our officers saw (Butkovich) running and looking behind himself and thought something didn’t look right. Naked Sunbather Catches 25 Days in Jail

Police arrest Royal Oak man after he breaks his promise not to be outside without his clothes on again.

A 51-year-old Royal Oak man apparently wanted to catch some rays on Father's Day, but what he got instead was a stay in the Oakland County Jail. Neighbors of Craig Floyd White, who lives in the 1100 block of Wyandotte in the southeast part of the city, got tired of seeing him sunbathing nude outside his home several times throughout the day Sunday. A neighbor first called police when she saw White naked in his backyard. Police paid a visit and White said he wouldn't do it again. Later that day, however, the neighbor saw White standing on his front porch without any clothes on and called police again, Lt. Tom Goad said.
