Last Chance: See Inside|Out Reproductions in Downtown Royal Oak Before They're Gone

The Detroit Institute of Arts’Inside|Out program will be de-installed on Monday.

St. Mary Catholic School in downtown Royal Oak took advantage of great fall weather to take a docent-led walking tour of the Detroit Institute of Arts’ (DIA) Inside|Out program on Friday. Now in its final days, more than 50 students studied the high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA’s collection in a tour that took just under one hour. Royal Oak is one of 13 Michigan communities selected to host the Inside|Out program. The six high-quality reproductions of art pieces from the DIA’s collection will be de-installed beginning Monday. "Inside|Out has been fabulous," said Anne Kuffler, owner of Ariana Gallery. "It's made a lot of young kids, and adults, too, take notice of art. I hope the program comes back to Royal Oak again…

DIA to Host 4-City Inside|Out Tour on July 29

The walking and biking tours will visit art reproductions in Royal Oak, Troy, Clawson, and Ferndale.

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is offering walking/biking tours of the Inside|Out reproductions in Royal Oak, Clawson, Troy and Ferndale on Sunday, July 29. Participants can sign up for all four tours or pick the combinations that suit their schedules. Tours begin at the following locations and times: Participants are invited to walk or bike from city to city or meet up with the groups by car. Inside|Out brings reproductions of great treasures from the Detroit Institute of Arts into your community. Discover them all around town. Experience fine art by flashlight in downtown Royal Oak. Royal Oak is one of 13 Michigan communities selected to host the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) Inside|Out program. Six high-quality reproductions of art pieces from the DIA’s collection were installed in an outdoor art show. Beginning tonight, join a guided walking tour of  Inside|Out. Inside|Out: DIA Art Event in Royal Oak Kicks Off Today at Noir Leather

The downtown retailer will present the unveiling of 'Selene and Endymion' by Nicolas Poussin.

The official kickoff to a three-month outdoor art show throughout downtown Royal Oak is today at Noir Leather, courtesy of the Detroit Institute of Art's Inside|Out program. The DIA installed six high-quality reproductions of art pieces from its collection in Royal Oak on Thursday. Noir Leather will present the first unveiling, of Selene and Endymion by Nicolas Poussin, at 1 p.m. today. Complimentary soft drinks and juices will be served at the event. Royal Oak is one of 13 Michigan communities selected to host the Inside|Out program. Most of the pieces hang on the sides of buildings, with one freestanding piece.
