WA3 Hosts Illumination Event For Woodward Royal Oak Tribute
WA3 reaches Royal Oak Tribute Fundraising goal thanks to recent donations from Leo’s Coney Island and The Michael Chetcuti Foundation.
The Woodward Avenue Action Association (WA3) will host an official VIP Illumination ceremony and event on Oct. 3, from 6-9 p.m. to commemorate the installation of the Woodward Royal Oak Tribute, located in the median of Woodward and 13 Mile Rd. The total cost to build the Tribute is $150,000, and the WA3 is providing a $120,000 National Scenic Byway grant awarded through the Federal Highway Administration (FHA). Final donations of $4,000 from Leo’s Coney Island and a $2,000 contribution from The Michael Chetcuti Foundation have helped the WA3 reach its goal of raising the $30,000 in matching funds that was needed for the FHA grant. “The Royal Oak Tribute will be an exciting addition to the Woodward streetscape, and it is located …
