Where/when: Royal Oak Music Theatre 318 W. 4th St; Thursday, 6 p.m. Why go: Escape the Fate is a hard rock band from Las Vegas. This is a band that is steadily making a name for itself as its music continues to climb the Active Rock and Alternative Rock radio charts. Also sharing the stage with Escape the Fate and Alesana is Motionless in White, Get Scared and Drive A. Celebrating New Year's Eve in Royal Oak

City businesses plan to offer a number of special discounts and theme parties to capitalize on celebration downtown.

New Year's Eve in Royal Oak is offering up a variety of fun and festive choices for food, drink and entertainment, from fancy to casual to rockin'. If you're trying to find something close to home, there are quite a few options to choose from. The main attraction this year is Rockin' the Eve. The event will be located at S. Washington Avenue and 6th Street, with the stage in front of Pronto Restaurant, 608 S. Washington. Rockin' the Eve will be hosted by 96.3 WDVD-FM and 93.1 DOUG-FM and will feature a free concert with The Gin Blossoms, The Romantics and "Battle of the Bands" winner The Wall Clocks.
