Vote for the Best of Everything in Royal Oak

You nominated your favorites in more than 20 categories; now it's time to cast your vote for the Royal Oak Patch's Choice 2012.

There is a lot to celebrate about Royal Oak: great family-friendly activities, great food, great local shops and services. But what's the best?  Earlier this summer, we asked you to help us gather nominations for Patch Readers' Choice 2012. For three weeks in June and July you told us about your favorite hair salons, your favorite dentist and the best place to buy shoes. Now it's time to put those nominations to a vote. Cast your vote by Aug. 17 and help us decide who's best. Whichever business gets the most votes will be named the Readers' Choice winner in that category. From cupcakes and coffee shops to dance studios and dentists, we have 25 Readers' Choice categories that need your nominations.

The deadline to nominate your favorite Royal Oak businesses is today. At 11:59 p.m. Royal Oak Patch will close the nomination period for its Readers' Choice contest and proceed to the voting stage. Some of the categories have received only a few nominations, while others have received a plethora. Your comments tell us which businesses to put up for a vote. Readers' Choice: Young's Chinese Voted Best Asian Food in Royal Oak

Siam Spicy Thai came in second place with 21 percent of votes.

We're on a quest to rate the best of the best in Royal Oak. This week, we asked Patch readers to vote for the best place for Asian food in Royal Oak. A total of 79 readers voted in our poll, and Young's Chinese Food on 11 Mile Road came out on top with 26 percent of votes. Siam Spicy came in second place with 21 percent of votes. Young's Chinese Food Head Chef Ming has been serving fine Chinese cuisine for more than 18 years while building a cult-like following of returning customers, such as mcshap who wrote: Huge portions.
