Restaurant Week Spotlight: Royal Oak Brewery

We'll be highlighting participating restaurants during Royal Oak Restaurant Week, from April 27 through May 6.

For 10 days, 24 of Royal Oak’s finest dining establishments are welcoming diners to Royal Oak Restaurant Week. To help celebrate, we'll be profiling participating restaurants throughout the week. 5 Things to Know this Week

We've got Restaurant Week and more going on in Royal Oak.

There's always a lot going on in Royal Oak. Here are some highlights this week: Pizzeria Biga opens on Monday: Pizzeria Biga, located on the top floor of the century-old St. Clair Edison building at 711 S. Main,  opens to the public at 11 a.m. The menu includes handcrafted pizzas, Italian antipasti, appetizers, salads, pastas, and desserts, such as homemade gelato, which is made fresh daily. The restaurant’s hours are: Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Senior Fundraiser on Tuesday: The Mahany/Meininger Senior Community Center is having a fundraiser on Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Sign of the Beefcarver. Special events in Macomb County, Detroit and Royal Oak give diners an incentive to travel to test and taste.

Do you have a favorite restaurant you are willing to spend a few more minutes in the car to get to? Is there a new eatery in another town you've been wanting to try? Several Metro Detroit communities are offering "restaurant weeks" in an attempt to get more diners – new and regulars – into their dining rooms. Restaurant weeks started in New York City in the '90s, but have really gained in popularity in Metro Detroit in the last few years. Royal Oak's Restaurant Week returns for 10 days April 27-May 6, growing to two dozen participants this time.
