U.S. Rep. Levin: 'We Grieve Together' for the Victims and Families of Newtown Shooting

On Friday, a gunman killed 26 children and adults at a school in Newtown, CT, before killing himself. Connecticut police have also connected the gunman to another death at a nearby home.

U.S. Rep. Sander Levin (D-District 12) today made the following statement in reaction to today's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT: "We grieve together today as one nation full of thoughts and prayers for the victims and families of Sandy Hook Elementary." Early reports suggest the gunman delilberately went to the school with the intention of killing his mother who was a kindergarten teacher at the school. At least 27 people, including the gunman, are reported to have been killed in the shooting. Twenty of the victims were children, according to Newtown Patch. In Michigan, the House and Senate passed legislation this week that would allow gun owners with concealed weapon permits to carry a gun into schools, daycares, …
