Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week: 3200 block of N. Altadena, April 13: A resident reported someone attempted to break into the home. The person damaged the side door but did not gain entry. 3600 block of Woodland, April 13: A resident reported someone entered the residence and stole a flat screen television and an air conditioning unit out of the garage.  100 block of E. Fourth Street, April 11: A man reported someone stole an air compressor out of his unlocked garage. 1800 W. 14 Mile (Penn’s Thai Kitchen), April 17: Staff reported someone broke out the glass door of the business and stole an undisclosed amount of currency and a 32-inch flat screen television. 1411 E. 11 Mile (Subway), April 14: Staff …

Police Blotter: Police Shoot Pit Bulls Attacking Small Dog

600 block of Amelia, Dec. 13:  Royal Oak officers responded to a report of two pit bulls attacking a smaller dog.   Upon arrival to the scene the officer found the pit bulls were viciously attacking a smaller dog.  A lone Royal Oak officer shot both of the pit bulls.  The owner of the pit bulls was issued several ordinance violations.  The dog that was attacked did not survive.  1500 block of Ottawa, Dec. 13:  A woman reported someone kicked in the front door of her home and stole three televisions and several Christmas presents from under her tree.  1000 block of N. Blair, Dec. 15:  Complainants reported someone had stolen both of their vehicles; Blue 2010 VW Jetta and a Black 2012 Chevy Cruze.  Investigation revealed the suspect entered …

Police Blotter: Cab Driver Grabs Woman's Breast, Fight Breaks Out on Bus

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week: Alexander and Gardenia, Dec. 2:  A woman reported a cab driver grabbed her breast in lieu of payment for a cab ride.  The man was driving a silver Town and Country and appears to be an independently licensed cab.  The suspect described the man as having a medium but muscular build.  Special Tree Housing Project, 2017 Rochester:  Royal Oak officers were called to the home when two special needs juveniles failed to return to the home after school.  Officers began a canvass of the area and determined the juveniles had last been seen around 2:30 p.m.  The officers were able to track one of the juvenile’s phones to an address in Clawson.  Officers went to the Clawson …

Police Blotter: Man Arrested for Possessing Stolen Items from Multiple Cars

The following information was supplied by the Royal Oak Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thefts dominated reports to the Royal Oak Police Department for this past week. Hudson and Mohawk, Nov. 26:  Royal Oak officers were checking the area for suspicious activity when they discovered a vehicle that had been broken into. The officers began to search the area for a suspect.  A few blocks away, the officers located a male on a bicycle.  The suspect attempted to hide when he saw the officers but he was quickly detained.  The officers determined he was in possession of several stolen items and had also attempted to hide other property before being detained.  The officers were able to link the stolen property to four separate larcenies from automobiles in the area. Royal Oak Police Looking for Owners of Stolen Tools

Car of Madison Heights man contained hand tools, small power tools believed to be stolen from Royal Oak vehicles and garages.

Royal Oak police have taken into custody a 33-year-old Madison Heights man believed to be involved in vehicle and garage break-ins.  Anthony Michael Carroll has been charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, a five-year felony, and driving while license suspended, a 93-day misdemeanor.  He was arraigned today at the 44th District Court before Magistrate Kenneth Roy.  Caroll is believed to be involved in a series of early morning and daytime thefts that include hand tools, small power tools and gasoline from various residential locations, according Interim Chief Corrigan O'Donohue.   Police had their eye on Caroll Tuesday morning, O'Donohue said. Police Blotter: Police Arrest Thieves, Suspicious Solicitor

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week: 1700 block of Gardenia, Oct. 7:  Royal Oak officers responded to the Village Green Apartment complex, at the request of the Ann Arbor Police Department, to look for a vehicle stole in a Home Invasion.  The officers located the stolen vehicle and discovered it was occupied by a male suspect. Further investigation revealed two more accomplices were on foot in the area. Officers located both the suspects hiding in the adjacent apartment complex. All three suspects were arrested.
