Police Blotter: Police Shoot Pit Bulls Attacking Small Dog

The following information was supplied by the Royal Oak Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

600 block of Amelia, Dec. 13:  Royal Oak officers responded to a report of two pit bulls attacking a smaller dog.   Upon arrival to the scene the officer found the pit bulls were viciously attacking a smaller dog.  A lone Royal Oak officer shot both of the pit bulls.  The owner of the pit bulls was issued several ordinance violations.  The dog that was attacked did not survive.  1500 block of Ottawa, Dec. 13:  A woman reported someone kicked in the front door of her home and stole three televisions and several Christmas presents from under her tree.  1000 block of N. Blair, Dec. 15:  Complainants reported someone had stolen both of their vehicles; Blue 2010 VW Jetta and a Black 2012 Chevy Cruze.  Investigation revealed the suspect entered …

Police Blotter: Man Arrested for Possessing Stolen Items from Multiple Cars

The following information was supplied by the Royal Oak Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thefts dominated reports to the Royal Oak Police Department for this past week. Hudson and Mohawk, Nov. 26:  Royal Oak officers were checking the area for suspicious activity when they discovered a vehicle that had been broken into. The officers began to search the area for a suspect.  A few blocks away, the officers located a male on a bicycle.  The suspect attempted to hide when he saw the officers but he was quickly detained.  The officers determined he was in possession of several stolen items and had also attempted to hide other property before being detained.  The officers were able to link the stolen property to four separate larcenies from automobiles in the area. Police Blotter: Cars Stolen, Man Finds Unknown Woman Cooking in His Apartment

Royal Oak Police received more than a dozen reports of stolen vehicles and larceny of vehicles from Sept. 6-13. Under the heading of "Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile": Two residents of Royal Oak reported their vehicles were stolen from their home or driveway in the past week, police reported. Thefts and breaking and enterings dominated reports to the Royal Oak Police Department for this past week. Here are the highlights: A 16-year-old girl who stayed home from school Jan. 23 awoke to find the female tenant of the other duplex's apartment in the 900 block of East Second inside her bedroom rummaging through her belongings. The suspect fled the scene, but Royal Oak officers later arrested the suspect without incident and charged her with home invasion.
