Perhaps a ruse to remain mysterious or a genuine capacity for conversation, Jeff Milo has exceeded in the pursuant inquisition and subsequent regaling of other's stories. Thus, his biographical report may remain cryptic at points: he's lived in Ferndale his entire life save the 4 ½ years spent between Ypsilanti and East Lansing, where, studying at both city's respective Universities (Eastern and Michigan State) he attained a Bachelor's of Science in Journalism. He minored in film studies, a degree he only uses to rattle off highfalutin trivia about Jean-Luc Godard, Jean Renoir and Akira Kurisawa. He spent regimented hours of his grade school days listening to classic rock n roll, watered down funk and mainstream rap – which thankfully evolved into an appreciation for a mixture of musical styles and sensibilities - classic, contemporary, mainstream and eclectic – leading into his eventual freelancing in music writing for various culture magazines over the last seven years, from Jam Rag, to Real Detroit, to Metro Times to Ann Arbor Current and online to TinyMixTapes.com. Between music, he's squeezed in a bit of the beat reporting rigmarole for Oakland Press and Macomb Daily. He still lives in Ferndale, every day, and still listens to music (most often 90% local bands), every day. He likes it here.
