I am a professional volunteer. Active in many community organizations: PTA, Oakland Schools Parent Advisory Committee for Special Education, Royal Oak Parent Advisory Committee for Special Education, President, Royal Oak Foundation for Public Education. 

I have a BA in Communication/English from MSU and a MA in Education from U of M.  My professional background is in technical writing, training design and development.

I grew up in Holt, MI (just outside of Lansing), but have called Royal Oak home for the past 20 plus years.  I share our cozy brick ranch with my husband, our 2 children and Sophie our St. Bernard.

I'm passionate about legislative and educational issues, as well as any issues having to do with protecting and ensuring the safety of our youth.
